Start with the scope, not a single advertised price

A countertop replacement and a complete kitchen renovation are different projects. One Tampa kitchen may need only new finishes; another may require demolition, floor repairs, new cabinets and relocated utilities. RFH provides a project-specific proposal after reviewing the requested work and existing conditions. This guide explains the budget decisions; it is not a price quote.

The decisions that change your budget

Cabinet quantities and construction, countertop selections, appliance changes, backsplash coverage and flooring scope all affect cost. Moving a sink, range or wall adds work that is not visible in a finish sample. Hidden damage may also need attention once existing materials are removed. Discuss how unforeseen conditions and changes will be documented before agreeing to construction.

Compare estimates on the same basis

Check whether each proposal includes demolition, debris removal, cabinet installation, countertop fabrication, fixtures, finish work and any required permit or design work. Identify which products are selected and which amounts are allowances. Clarify whether appliances are owner-supplied and who handles delivery and installation. Two totals cannot be compared fairly when they describe different work.

Set priorities and protect room for decisions

Separate must-have repairs from optional upgrades. Decide which existing items can remain, and choose the layout before committing to materials. Ask what could change the schedule or price and agree on how additional work is approved. Share your target budget with RFH so the first conversation can focus on a practical scope instead of selections that are outside your plans.

What to send for an estimate

Include your location, room photos, rough dimensions, preferred timing and a description of the work. List any known leak or floor damage. Photos help start the conversation, but they do not replace a site review. Use the estimate planner on the homepage or send pictures through our RFH chat inbox.
